Deputy Superintendent of Police Usha Rada, who recently quit the Special Task Force probing various encounters of Gujarat, has been transferred from Gandhinagar to Vadodara.

Rada was given encounter cases of Valsad district and she had recently reconstructed the encounters with her team. While she had cited workload as the reason for quitting STF, sources said Rada did not want to probe the encounter cases of Valsad in which her former boss Abhay Chudasama was allegedly involved.

The DGP office had reportedly received several complaints against Rada following a raid on a Gandhinagar farmhouse during her tenure as DSP of Kalol.

Ahmedabad ACP (Crime) Mayur Chavda has been shifted to the chief minister's security wing of the state intelligence bureau.

Chavda had been associated with the DCB for the last four years after his deputation as part of a special investigation team that assisted the branch in the investigation of 2008 Ahmedabad serial blasts.

Chavda was given charge of the DCB for two months in 2010 before Himanshu Shukla's appointment.

Nirlipt Rai, an IPS officer of 2010 batch, will take place of Chavda.

While 13 DSPs from Ahmedabad city and district have been shifted to Vadodara, Surat and Gandhinagar, five new IPS officers have been appointed as ACP.

CID (Crime) senior inspector H R Zala has been promoted to the rank of DSP and posted to Veraval town in Junagadh.
