  • Be it frown lines, lip wrinkles, crow’s feet or skin ailments like acne and vitiligo, a cutaneous surgeon can use his/her artistic skills in dealing with the problems with newer surgical techniques. "In the quest for a perfect face, techniques like facial sculpting with botox and fillers, lasers and minimally invasive chemical peels are being popularly used today," says Col R S Grewal, head of the department of Dermatology, Command Hospital, Southern Command.

A national dermatology workshop on "Changing horizons in dermatology – medical to surgical" was conducted by the Department of Dermatology, Command Hospital at the Armed Forces Medical College here. From topical therapy orientation to an exquisite hands-on intervention, key developments in cutaneous surgery, aesthetic dermatology, radio, cryo and chemosurgery including laser medicine were discussed at the workshop.
