When it comes to her parts in films,Katrina is exploring several new aspects. For instance,her doing a special song for Tees Maar Khan. Sheila ki jawani has the actress showing off a substantial part of her midriff,something she has never done before. She concedes that it is the raunchiest song that she has done and was most uncomfortable doing it. I am not the kind of person who wants to display brazen sex-appeal. Neither do I want to be appear raunchy.

And when I do something like Sheila ki jawani it is definitely not within my comfort level. I am sure I would have enjoyed it more if I was not so nervous about exposing my midriff in the choli and dhoti. But then Farah finds a way to make the exposure appealing and yet keep everything within a persons comfort level. There was no I dont want to do this,or You have to do this,between us, she says.

But what has her smiling is that it is coming across as a fun song and people who have seen the number are calling it cute and sexy,and not seductive. The only thing I have to keep telling everyone is that it is not a item number. I play a struggling actress in the film and this song is my first break as an actor in a B-grade film. The song is part of the film within the film and not added like item numbers are!

Elaborating on her character,she says that Anya Khan is a very ambitious girl who wants to act in films,but she is very naïve and gets conned easily. The role is a hilarious take on a wannabe actress. She is a bimbo who thinks that if there is an important scene in a film it will have more impact if she wears a lot of make-up. When Farah approached me with the role she said that at times it is important to laugh at yourself,and I agree with her.

Her co-star in the film is Akshay Kumar with whom she has many hits. So will the jodi prove to be lucky again? I really dont believe in this luck thing. It is the content of a film which matters, she says.

It is equally interesting to hear Katrina talking about her part in Yash Raj Films Mere Brother Ki Dulhan for which she has just finished a long schedule. Here she plays a self-opinionated and stubborn girl with characteristics contrary to her gentle persona off-screen. This girl is very different from the other characters I have played before,and I had to go completely outside my comfort zone to essay her.

And then theres Zoya Akhtars Zindagi Milegi Na Phir Dobara a road movie with some thrilling stunts. How would she compare Farah and Zoya,both lady directors?

I was familiar with both Farahs and Zoyas body of work,but I didnt know how they would handle their films. Each was a different experience. Farah gives the required feminine touches to a film,but otherwise it is like working with a male director. Zoya,on the other hand,sees her films through the eyes of a woman.
