A contest to select the best designers —that's just what the War of Fashion Designers -- an event organised by PuneModels, aims to do. The contest will have a minimum of 10 designers vying for the Best Designer 2009. Open for all designers at the national, professional, institutional and individual level, designers will have to prepare two outfits based on the themes of environment and seasons. They will also be provided with two professional female models to showcase their creativity. The winner will walk away with a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and will be entitled to a crown and a cash award of Rs two lakh. The runner-up will be cast as the lead role in a home production movie of PuneModels. The same event will also witness the crowning of the Model of the Year 2009. Anyone with a knack for designing can be part of the competition by paying a fee of Rs 3,000. The last date for registration is July 13 and the event is scheduled to take place at Zafran, near Kalyani Nagar, on July 25.
