Despite chill,cases of dengue rising

Despite the recent chill in the air,the number of dengue cases being reported in the city continue to rise with the total number of cases this season reaching 347.

Despite the recent chill in the air,the number of dengue cases being reported in the city continue to rise with the total number of cases this season reaching 347. Out of these,207 positive dengue cases are from Chandigarh alone.

Five deaths have been attributed to the disease with the most recent being a 38-year-old woman.

Authorities have repeatedly claimed of intensifying field activities,including visiting vulnerable areas like Hallomajra and Raipur Khurd where around 127 containers,95 over-head tanks and 19 coolers were inspected.

Focal fogging was done in all government institutions in Sector 26,Punjab Engineering College-Sector 12 and Sector-38/C. These fogging operations are being carried out in presence of area counselors and local leaders.
