  • The names and contact details of 97 private security agencies, which were given license by the Pune police, will be displayed on the official website of Pune police, www.punepolice.com.

Joint Commissioner of Police Rajendra Sonwane appealed the citizens to take the services of licensed private security agencies. "The police are issuing licenses to private security agencies after proper verification. We check the quality and background of security guards. Those agencies that deploy well-trained persons and give proper training to the security guards were given licenses," Sonwane sai.

"More agencies have applied for licenses and the process of verification is on. We will be displaying the list of all the licensed private security agencies on our website," he added.

"It has been observed that some private security agencies have employed inappropriate persons as guards. Such agencies provide security guards at low cost. But these guards are not trained to tackle emergency situations. Many guards are old and retired persons who are unhealthy and can't even walk properly. So, people should go for well-trained security guards even if they charge more money," Sonwane said.
