Dhumal promises more educational institutes

Holding the previous Congress government responsible for ignoring the state in the field of education,Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today said his government would encourage the private players to set up more educational institutions in the state.

Eight new vocational universities would soon be established in private participation in the state,he added.

Dhumal laid the foundation stone of a railway over-bridge and BR Ambedkar Bhawan at Dharampur today.

He said the state government has proposed Rs 668 crore to be spent under the Scheduled Caste Special Component Plan (SCCP) during next financial year,compared to Rs 594 crore during the current financial year. He said the government has brought the tomato and potato crops under the crop insurance scheme and steps are being taken for the welfare the farming community.

To meet the problem of shortage of drinking water in Dagshai and Kasauli,Giri Water Supply Scheme would be augmented. Besides,Kaushlaya river drinking water scheme would also be augmented.

Speaking on the occasion,Health minister Dr Rajeev Bindal criticised the UPA government for not providing any flood relief to the state. Former chairman,State Marketing Board and BJP nominee from Shimla Parliamentary seat Virender Kashyap welcomed the Chief Minister and lauded contribution of BJP government in upliftment of the farmers. Kasauli MLA Rajeev Sehjal also spoke on the occasion.
