Different Shots

For international commercial lawyer Meghna Inamdar, her passion for photography, has become a means of expressing herself

When she was a young girl it was her father's habit of constantly clicking away on his camera, developing the photos and talking passionately about exposure, shutter speeds and ISOs that got her intrigued. The fascination stayed on with Meghana Inamdar through her days at school and at law school later, where she studied to become an international commercial lawyer. At the age of 25 however, she took up the art form as a hobby. All this has translated into her first solo exhibition at Grubshup, which is on till November 20. According to Inamdar, the exhibition 'Gift of Beauty' is divided into two parts. The first explores the beauty of God and nature and the second portrays human beings paying their reverence through the temples at Angkor Wat, Cambodia.

"Yes, there was always a germ of an idea in my mind. I even did photography as a hobby for 10 years," says 35-year-old Inamdar, adding, "But it was only in the last two years that I seriously began looking into it as something beyond a hobby and more as a means of self-expression and showcasing the harmony between man, nature and God." The exhibition at Grubshup features a total of 15 images, which she says are primarily from the Himalayas and Cambodia. "My profession has taken me to all those places that I would dream of, as a little girl. And all these places that I visited, the stark harmony between these three elements was something that struck out for me. In a world torn open by wars and negativity, almost every place on earth harbours this innate desire to merge peace, spirituality and happiness," says Inamdar.
