The Kerala Government on Friday said it was ‘disappointed’ that the state’s long-pending demand for a separate railway zone had not been met by the Rail Budget, though some requests had been conceded. State Law Minister in charge of Railways, M Vijayakumar, expressed disappointment that the budget neglected the railway zone, which was expected to boost railway development in Kerala.
He said it was a matter of concern that sufficient allocation had not been made to set up the proposed coach factory in Palakkad and wagon factory in Cherthala.
