Disaster management campaign held by Brahma Kumaris

A campaign highlighting the importance of disaster management was organised by Brahma Kumaris at the Rajyoga Bhawan in Sector-33A on Sunday.

The campaign, aimed at creating awareness amongst the masses about the potential risks of environmental degradation and imparting various skills to cope with disasters, was flagged off at Panipat on September 16 and after covering Karnal, Jind, Hisar, Kaithal, Kurukshetra and Ambala, was organised in the city today.

Addressing the media, B K Bharat Bhushan, coordinator of the campaign said, "The exploitation of nature's resources is a threat to our own existence as they are the pillars of our civilization and are necessary to sustain us. Hence, it is important to protect nature and instead of only working towards mending the damage we should also analyse the causes."

Lectures by eminent faculty members from different institutes in the country working in the field of disaster management were organised in various colleges and social service organisations during the campaign. The campaign will be culminating on October 4 at Jammu.
