Darshan Lal Chawla, a resident of Haibowal here, donated the eyes of his young son, late Deepak Chawla, aged 27 yrs, to Punarjot Eye Bank society. Chawla had died after three months of his marriage. These eyes were transplanted to 16-year-old girl Shah Jahan and Amrinder Singh, aged 25.

Gurjant Singh, a resident of Pithoo village in Bathinda donated eyes of his young son, late Beant Singh, who died at the age of 35. The eyes were transplanted to Mandeep Singh, 22, and Harminder Singh, 22 .

The donor families also visited the hospital and distributed fruit to the patients. Dr Ramesh, Director, Punarjot Eye Bank Society, thanked the eye donor families.
