  • Excitement of Diwali festivities gripped the capital on Saturday as people exchanged greetings and thronged temples to offer prayers on the occasion.

Gentle chanting of prayers and fragrance of scented incense sticks wafted through the air from households and temples as many were seen offering sweets to each other.

People also exchanged 'Happy Diwali' greetings to friends and relatives.

Keeping in view of terror threats, tight security measures have been put in place across the capital, especially in and around vital installations, markets and places of worship.
