After the bus fare hike, commuters in Delhi will now have to shell out more for travelling on Metro rail as the DMRC hiked the minimum fare from Rs six to Rs eight while the maximum will be Rs 30 instead of Rs 22.
The average increase in fare for all slabs is around 36 per cent, DMRC officials said.
They said the 10 per cent discount on smart card will continue.
This is the third time that DMRC has revised fares. The first one was in March 2004 while the second revision was in December 2005. The metro services started in the city in 2002.
