DMRC to implement Kochi Metro

The proposed Kochi Metro will be implemented by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. This was decided at a meeting of the board of directors of the Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) held here on Tuesday.

Former DMRC managing director E Sreedharan will not hold any position in the KMRL board of directors but would oversee the implementation in his capacity as the chief adviser of the DMRC. Sreedharan also attended Tuesday’s board meeting.

Kerala Transport Minister Aryadan Muhammed said the representative of the central government would be the chairman of the KMRL while that of the state would be managing director in the board,slated to be reconstituted.
