    Director: David Dhawan

    Rating: *

Govinda is well past his sell-by date. This is immediately evident when he first appears on screen, plunging headlong into a situation— the big, bare bosom of an extra, arranged precisely for that purpose. Back when Govinda and David Dhawan were in their prime, even something as hackneyed as this would have had us rolling on the floor. But knot anymore.

`Do Knot Disturb’ begins as it means to go along – with a gag so bedraggled that it should have been left out of the door, long, long ago.

For the record, Dhawan is back to his favorite `gharwali-baharwali’ theme. With Govinda as the husband playing the field, Sushmita the wife, Lara the girl-friend, the film sets out to prove that Govinda is still virile enough to keep two healthy ( and heavy, we may add; there’s no other way to describe the over-blown Sushmita ) girls happy.

Riteish pops up as the fake boyfriend of the girl-friend ( to lull the suspicious wife). Manoj Pahwa manages the rake’s affairs, doubling up as a detective as and when required. Ranvir Shorey, in a godawful wig, going by the godawful name of Noonoo, is a sleuth too, spying on bedroom activities in homes and hotels.

And Sohail Khan, Lara’s muscle-bound admirer, is called Diesel because he has anger management issues.

This bunch goes round and round, occasionally raising a feeble laugh. And maybe a guffaw or two. But the film is a sad reminder of the glory days of Govinda and Dhawan, when the director with the snappiest sense of rhythm teamed with the best comic in the business and delivered us unto unfettered laughter.

    ... contd.
