Dodray anchors SS High School triumph

  • Propelled by a brace by Enem Dodray, SS High School, Khunti, scored an emphatic 6-1 win over Malwa Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana, in a phase second match of the 38th ATS Junior Nehru Hockey Tournament being played at Sector 42 Sports Complex on Sunday.

    Nirdosh opened the account for the Khunti team as he converted a penalty stroke in the 17th minute of the match before Enem Dodray doubled the lead for the Khunti team in the 26th minute of the match. The Ludhiana team gathered momentum and scored their first goal through Sukhjit Singh who converted a penalty corner in the 28th minute.

    The Khunti team again gained momentum and scored their third goal of the match in the 34th minute when Vinod netted a field goal. Nirdosh then extended the lead for the winning team as he scored his second goal of the match in the 38th minute before Enem Dodray also added another goal to his tally by scoring in the 50th minute of the match. Manish Das then scored the sixth goal for the winning team in the 68th minute to compete the rout for the Khunti team.

    In another match of the day, Bright Scholar Senior Secondary School, Sonepat, scored a facile 6-0 win over Government Senior Secondary School, Jarkhar. Navpreet Singh opened the account for the Sonepat team when he converted a penalty corner in the sixth minute of the match before Sidharth scored another goal two minutes later to double the lead.
