The manager and a member of the conservancy staff have been arrested and remanded in judicial custody.

The incident took place on Thursday when a three-year-old girl drank floor cleaning acid from the store, thinking it was water. However,in the statement issued by Harneet Singh Rajpal, vice president, marketing, denied all the allegations. “Domino’s Pizza and Jubilant FoodWorks Limited (JFL) regrets the unfortunate incidence that happened at the store. But we would like to categorically state that there was no negligence on part of our store and we have absolutely no role in it. Domino’s stores have always complied with the highest safety norms and regulations,” wrote Rajpal.

Rajpal further said the child entered the store when it was being sanitised. “As part of the hygiene maintenance process ours stores are sanitised few times a day. The store was undergoing the process during which the incidence happened and there were no customers inside the store. The affected kid and his family were standing outside the store and had not yet entered the store to place an order. The kid came inside unattended and picked up the sanitiser kept in a plastic cup on the floor,to drink. Dominos employees raised an alarm and informed the parents. The store team has taken emergency measures to ensure immediate medical attention to the child. We are also fully cooperating with the police and legal authorities in the matter,” he added.
