Don’t have expectations from Cabinet reshuffle: Montek

Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission has rejected speculations that he may get the Commerce portfolio.

The Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission,Montek Singh Ahluwalia,has rejected media speculations that he may get the Commerce and Industry portfolio,replacing incumbent Anand Sharma in the forthcoming Cabinet reshuffle.

“This is all newspaper speculation and we should wait to see what happens and I don’t regard it. This is the time when everybody speculates on everything. I don’t have any such expectation on this issue,” said Ahluwalia.

He said that he was happy with his current portfolio and did not have any expectation from the Cabinet reshuffle.

“I am quite happy what I am doing. We have a big job to do and I hope that we can do it. So,I don’t have any expectation and I am not commenting at all on the coming whenever it happens,reshuffle,” he added.

Ahluwalia has been the Deputy Chairman of the Plan panel since July 2004.
