Don’t recommend docs’ transfer,legislators told

Shetty said he could not understand the reason behind the reluctance to work in these three districts.

He said he had received around 500 applications for transfer of officials in these three districts.

“These postings are crucial as there are vacancies and staff needed in these locations. I request legislators not to send recommendation letters for transfers,” he said.

Shetty was replying in the legislative council discussion regarding the public health system touching on issues such as medicine availability,staff and the declining sex ratio.

He said the officers who had been recruited during the recent drive would lose their jobs if they don’t join their posts by May-end.
