Double delight for Mann

It turned out to be a good day for Justice TP Mann as he rallied to claim both the 45+ singles and doubles title on the concluding day of the Late Sh LD Kapoor Memorial Total Tennis Championship for seniors played at Total Tennis Academy ‘s YMCA,Sector 11,Chandigarh. MS Dhillon was at the receiving end as TP Mann first defeated him in singles and later in the doubles’ final match.

On a hot day,TP Mann started his campaign on a bright note by defeating MS Dhillon of BSNL in a match that lasted for two hours. Dhillon gave a tough fight to Mann but could not prevent him from winning the singles title 9-8 (8-6). The match was an absolute entertainer as both the players fought for each points and the match was agonisingly close till the very end.

Later,Mann paired with Harish Saini of Chandigarh to defeat the duo of MS Dhillon and BB Mehta easily by 8-5. Meanwhile,BB Mehta had to fight hard before beating Dhillon of BSNL 9-7 in the 50+ category in a match that went over one and half hour.

The 35+ doubles title was won by second seeded pair of Sham Jagat and Ajay Yashpual of Mohali as they defeated top seeded duo of Devinder Kapoor and Jasmer Walia in a tough fought match in straight sets by 7-6,7-5 in two hours.
