Double Dhamaal: Dharmendra makes debut in Punjabi films

Subhash Ghai’s prestigious banner Mukta Arts Entertainment forays into Punjabi films with a Dharmendra-starrer. Titled Double Di Trouble,it is directed by Smeep Kang of Carry On Jatta and Lucky Di Unlucky Story fame. In a 50-odd-year long career,Double… is Dharmendra’s first film in Punjabi,his mother-tongue,and that too in a double role. Poonam Dhillon,who has earlier worked with the superstar in Hindi films like Virodhi,Batwara, Qayamat,Sitamgar,etc will be seen in a pivotal role. Based on William Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors,a father-son duo come across their lookalikes in a different city leading to a major chaos; it leads to a lot of twists and turns and creates a confusion among people around them.

The shooting, which began in the first week of October in and around Chandigarh,Punjab,will wrap up by the end of November with a brief stint in Mumbai in December.

Plans are on to release it in March-April.
