Dr Gulati awarded fellowship

  • Dr Rajinder Gulati, Incharge of Pediatrics Department, ESIC Model Hospital, Ludhiana has been awarded ‘Fellowship of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (FIAP) - 2009.’

    A total of 10 nominees were awarded FIAP from whole of India during the year 2009. Dr Gulati is the only recipient from Punjab this year. This was notified by the general secretary of central IAP, Dr Rohit C Agarwal. The fellowship certificates will be awarded at the inaugural function of the 47th National Conference of IAP (Pedicon — 2010) scheduled to be held on January 7 next year in Hyderabad.

    Speaking on the occasion, Dr Gulati said that it was an honour and privilege for him. He added that his aim was to improve under five mortality in India, which accounted for 21% of all under five deaths annually, which is highest for any country. “

    Dr Gulati is a trainer for numerous child survival programmes like Infant and Young Child Feeding, Neo-natal Resuscitation Programme, Science of Vaccinology, Integrated Management of Neonatal and Childhood Illness and Standardization and Computerisation of Office Pediatric Practice. He has made outstanding contributions in the fields of child health and trained a large number of doctors and other health staff.
