Leg-spinner Rahul Sharma faced being recalled from India's tour of Sri Lanka Friday after testing positive for recreational drugs allegedly taken during a rave busted by Mumbai Police on May 20.
A top BCCI official said that action, if any, would be taken after studying the reports available with police, but did not rule out recalling Sharma.
"Once we get to know the nature of the drug, if we deem that it is required, we also have the option of recalling Sharma from Sri Lanka," the official said.
Earlier, Additional Commissioner of Police (West Region) Vishwas Nangre Patil had said that samples of all six men tested in the second round of examinations had turned out positive. Asked specifically about Sharma and South African allrounder Wayne Parnell, he had said, "I cannot comment on this."
