  • Uday Paswan, a main accused in the case relating to murder of Satyendra Dubey, National Highway Authority of India engineer who blew the lid off corruption, was today arrested from a village in Bihar’s Gaya district, nearly three weeks after he escaped from police custody in a court.

Paswan, one of the three accused, had escaped on December 15 from the premises of Patna civil court where he was brought for examination of a witness. He had fled from outside the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge BN Srivastava where witnesses were to be examined by the CBI, which is probing the case.

Dubey, a Deputy General Manager rank officer of NHAI, who had brought to light corruption in the construction of the Golden Quadrilateral road project, was killed and his belongings were looted when he was returning home from the Gaya railway station on November 27, 2003.
