Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said due notice has been taken of controversial remarks made by Minister Sham Lal Sharma and appropriate action would follow after analysing contents of his speech. As far as the ministers remarks are concerned,due notice has been taken at appropriate quarters, he told reporters on the sidelines of a function here. Please allow them to examine not only the statement but also contents (of the ministers speech) and after that whatever is to be done will be done. I am sure whatever action needs to be taken,if deemed necessary,will follow, the Chief Minister said. The Health and Horticulture Minister,belonging to the Congress,had stoked a controversy when he said at a rally on Sunday that Kashmir be granted Azadi,Jammu should be made a separate state and Ladakh be given the UT status. The remarks,made at a rally in Kathua district in the presence of PCC head Saifuddin Soz,had embarrassed his party which termed these as his personal view. In a statement here yesterday,the minister sought to clarify his remarks and said Jammu and Kashmir was an integral part of India and its accession to the country was final and irrevocable. "What I have said (at the rally) is that if we do not adhere to the principle of coalition dharma,then forces who want UT for Ladakh,separate state for Jammu and autonomy for Kashmir will gain momentum in their nefarious designs," Sharma had said. On the recent attack on a school bus by separatists in Srinagar,the Chief Minister said "children and schools should be kept out of agitational politics." "I have already said everybody,every right thinking person,whether a separatist or a part of the mainstream,has condemned this attack," he said. "Education above all else should be conflict neutral," Omar said. The Chief Minister was talking to mediapersons after attending an annual day function at Wazir Janki Nath Memorial School in the city.
