East Bengal lose again,Dempo held

Mahindra Uniteds striker Subair Muritala Ali headed in two goals to script Uniteds 3-2 win over East Bengal in the I-League clash at Cooperage ground on Wednesday.

Veteran Alvito DCunha had put visitors in front in the 29th minute. Muritala then scored two in the 35th and the 42nd minutes with winger Steven Dias and N P Pradeep providing the assists from the left flank. Nigerian Yusif Yakubu restored parity for the Kolkata team. N P Pradeeps goal on a rebound in the 76th minute sealed the win for the home side.

In other match of the day,Dempo drew 1-1 with Salgoacar in Panaji. Ikenwa scored with a header for Salgoacar in the fourth minute,while Roberto da Silva equalised in the 48th. Sunil Chettri missed two easy chances in the first half.
