The Delhi Police today arrested four robbers in East Delhi for allegedly targeting two people who were on the way to a bank to deposit the money collected from a gas agency on July 6. The police said the robbers got information from the gas agency itself.
The police arrested Imran Ahmad, 21, Ashok, 22, and Nadeem, 22. The police said that during interrogation the accused confessed they used to get information from Laxmi Gas Agency. They would wait and throw chilly powder in the eyes of their victims and then rob them. They also revealed the names of three accomplices. While the police have arrested Shanti, 35, an auto driver, two are still evading arrest.
The trio was arrested after the police received a complaint from one Kapil Vij, who was on his way with a colleague to deposit Rs 3.58 lakh in a bank in Laxmi Nagar. Vij told the police that a few boys intercepted them and threw chilly powder in their eyes. Both were then assaulted and robbed. Police have recovered Rs 59,000 and a stolen motorcycle from the three accused.
