Looking confident and raring to go, Bhavjot Singh and Sumer Sandhu were simply unstoppable as they cruised into the next rounds of both the boys' Under-12 and -14 categories of the YMCA Total tennis championship held at YMCA Total Tennis Academy, Sector 11, on Saturday. Similarly, Asav Kumar also impressed during his victories in boys' Under-10 and -12 categories.
Bhavjot started the day on a bright note as he made short work of Vansh Deep in the Under-12 category and took just 30 minutes to dismantle his opponent 6-0. In the Under-14 match, Bhavjot carried forward the momentum from the first match and easily defeated Gaurish 6-0, to cruise into the next round. Sumer, on the other hand, had contrasting victories. He dropped just a single game during his 6-1 victory over Gaurish in the boy's Under-12 category. He was, however, tested in the boy's Under-14 match but managed to get the better of Sahil Yadav 6-5 (7-2) in the tie-breaker in a tough encounter. Meanwhile, Asav Kumar also looked in terrific touch in both the boy's Under-10 and -12 matches. In the Under-10 match, he thrashed Jaspreet 6-0 while he outclassed Sarbjot 6-1 in the Under-12 category.
