The Election Commission issued notice to Home Minister P Chidambaram and sought his reply by Monday.

The Election Commission issued notice to Home Minister P Chidambaram and sought his reply by Monday for allegedly offering poll sops during a visit to Rajasthan for a security review meeting.

The notice was issued following a complaint filed by the BJP which alleged that Chidambaram, during his visit to the state in the last week of March, had taken up electoral issues.

The complaint said the Home Minister talked about granting citizenship to displaced Hindus from Pakistan and additional facilities for passengers travelling by 'Thar Express'.

The three-member Commission, headed by N Gopalaswami, asked Chidambaram to reply to the notice by tomorrow by 5 pm.

WE WANT IDEAL POLITICIANS WHO DON"T CHEAT PEOPLE BY AMSSING WEALTHBy: B S GANESH | 07-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward By reading the report of assets of various politicians, any sensible patriot person can easily conclude that there are no politicians in our country who practice the ESSENTIAL PRINCIPLES OF POLITICS namely " SERVICE, SACRFICE and PATRIOTISM " and most of them are only criminals and traitors in political uniform to cheat the country and its poor people. If there is at least one patriot who practice the principles, country can prosper and poverty can be reduced. They fight for their power and conspiracies. B S GANESH
PC THOUGHT NOBODY CAN QUESTION HIM. BUT EC HAS DONE RIGHT THINGBy: B S GANESH | 06-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward ELECTION COMMISSION HAS DONE excellent work in issuing notice to Chidambaram. Perhaps Chidambaram thought being a Home Minister nobody can touch him for any thing he utters or promises. Perhaps he has forgotten all are equal before law. B S GANESH
PC is Dravidian and not hindu. Hence can never help hindusBy: Mrs Bhanumati | 06-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward During last 5 years UPA leaders never remembered Hindus. They worked for minority without doing any single thing for Hindus.I can never believe that Chidambaram can talk for the cause of hindus as they would lose Minority votes.Congress has morphed into Muslim League.
Chindambaram is above lawBy: Charu | 06-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward I have not seen in my life time EC punishing Congress and its any leaders. Laws only applies BJP, and Hindus.Minority loving people like Chidambaram is above law.
EC do not have guts to arrest Chindambaram under NSABy: Mrs Bhanumati | 06-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward I know election commission. Congress has its own men in EC. Kureshi and Navin Chawla. Varun was charged without any evidence under NSA. EC do not have guts to arrest Chindambaram under NSA.If not then at EC should de-register congress.
