Sends final reminder to school to act on violations or face the music
The education department has warned the Saupin’s School, Sector 32 that its affliation will be withdrawn if it does not act upon the shortcomings that came to light during an inspection. This is the second and final reminder sent by the District Education Officer to the school and its one week deadline will end on Tuesday.
An inspection team headed by the District Education Officer visited the school on April 24 and the school was found defying various regulations.
The school did not furnish the credentials of the members of its managing committee as per norms. The school also did not submit certificate mentioning that none of the members of the managing committee were related to each other and that all were working on honorary basis. The team also found that the school did not deposit five percent of six months’ salary with the government as per regulation under Punjab Education Code.
The team found that the school did not have the required number of students from economically weaker section as per the norms set up by the Administration where 15 per cent of the students should belong to this section.
The department had also asked the school to submit the details of the fee and funds charged from them.
During the visit, the school was found lacking proper fire equipment arrangement as well. It has been mentioned in the final notice sent today that no proof of replacing defective fire extinguishers and re-filling of cylinders was given by the school. It also did not present any documentary proof of maintaining an updated record of renewal of contract with school bus contractors. The team also felt that the registers with the admission numbers allotted were tampered with.
