Industry academic conference at UoP
Department of Instrumentation Science, University of Pune (UoP), in collaboration with Oasis Education has organised a two-day conference called "Embedopedia -Robotics Workshop" on October 6 and 7. The event was inaugurated by Wasudev N Gade, vice- chancellor, UoP and other eminent personalities from the embedded and robotics industry and academic sector. About 250 students from 250 electronics engineering and science students representing 100 colleges under various universities in the state participated in the event. The interaction focused on providing career guidance to the students in various domains in Embedded Systems and Robotics.
I2I invites entries from young innovators
Ignited Innovators of India, a programme aimed at providing a platform for students to turn social entrepreneurs began on October 3. I2I has been instituted by the Bhau Institute of Innovation Entrepreneurship & Leadership (BIEL) and College of Engineering Pune (COEP) in association with Eaton Corporation. This year, the initiative aims to have 1,500 participants from 100 colleges spread across 30 cities. 200 projects will be selected from technology, education, environment, agriculture, health and social cause categories and two projects from each category will be declared as the winners in March 2013. Twelve Eaton employees shall mentor the students whose projects will make it to the first list of 200 projects. The mentors will guide and support the students at every stage of their project life cycle. Last year over 1,000 students from 30 colleges across the state participated in the event. 211 projects were submitted, of which 85 projects were shortlisted for final evaluation. The participants identified prominent areas of change and proposed innovative solutions to address the same in various fields.
