Maharashtra Employment Guarantee Scheme (EGS) Minister Nitin Raut demanded the trial of the triple murder of Dalit youth at Sonai village of Ahmednagar district be conducted in a fast track court.
Three dalit youths Sandeep Thanwal, Rahul Khandare and Sachin Gharu were found murdered at Sonai village in Nevasa taluka of the district on January 1.
Raut presented a charter of demands on the incident to Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, demanding that senior public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam should be appointed to fight the case.
The Minister also demanded the family members of the deceased be given an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh instead of Rs 1.5 lakh and that Sandeep Thanwal's widow should be given a government job.
"For the rehabilitation of family members of the victims, they should be relocated to a suitable place," Raut said.
He also said the victim's family members should be given financial aid on the lines of what was given to the family members of the Khairlanji massacre victims.
Maharashtra Home Minister R R Patil has already ordered a CID inquiry into the incident.
"The culprits will not be spared and a detailed investigation will be conducted into the incident," Patil had said.
Patil told a delegation of Dalit leaders of the Mehtar-Valmiki community, to which the three deceased youths belonged, that he has asked the CID to probe the incident.
The development came a week after Dalit and social activists demanded a probe by the National Human Rights Commission during its tour of the state
