  • A house near an old Shiv Mandir in North Delhi’s Civil Lines has revealed an unlikely resident straight out of mythology: a 20-kilo, eight-foot long adult python. Residents of Chandrawal area in Civil Lines reported they saw a snake late Wednesday night. It turned out to be a 20-kilo python, found on the roof of a household. An excited crowd had gathered below the house.

“The python was lodged in the thin roof between two houses. It seems to have climbed a tree and reached the roof. It was noticed only at night and the call came at 11.30 pm. A huge crowd had gathered below the house to watch the operation,” said Sanjay Acharya of Wildlife SOS, who rescued the snake.
