She calls her second innings in Bollywood as God’s blessing and to thank the Almighty, Monica Bedi has come up with what she calls a “spiritual release”, Ek Onkaar.
“This album is not a career move or a business proposition for me. This album is to say thank you to God. It a feeling straight from my heart,” says the actor.
In Ludhiana to promote her album, Monica remarked: “Very few people get a second chance in life like I have got. It is like my second birth.”
Speaking about the album, vice-president, A&R, Universal Music, Rajeeta Hemwani clarified: “Monica is not a singer and she has not sung in the album. The Mul Mantra and the paath in the album is her rendition. The music has been composed keeping in mind the international audience, specially the Sikh diaspora.”
Talking about her future plans, Monica said: “I will start shooting for a film in September and till then people will see me in yet another reality show.”
The actor who has previously done two reality shows—Big Boss and Jhalak Dhikhla Ja—defends the trend of such shows on TV: “I owe my comeback to these reality shows. People first saw the real Monica in Big Boss. They changed their opinion about me and started loving me. For me, these reality shows are a blessing, but yes many things in the shows are done for the sake of TRPs. The producers demand them and hence it is done. But reality shows serve the purpose for which they are intended and that is entertaining people.”
