The elephant which was injured after being hit by a train on Sunday near Haridwar in Motichur forest area died on Monday evening. The elephant, which was seven months pregnant, suffered a miscarriage, forest department officials said. One elephant had died on the spot on the day of the accident after a train ran over it. A Jan-Shatabdi Express had dashed against the herd causing the accident.
