The Union Home Ministry has already put in place strict measures for Pakistanis visiting India to watch matches in the ongoing series. The Government has put a cap of 250 on the number of visas for each match, a substantially lower figure than the number allowed earlier for Indo-Pak matches. The move came with strict instructions to the state police and Intelligence agencies to monitor the movement of Pakistani nationals granted a visa for the matches. This was prompted by the experience of 2005 when many Pakistanis went “missing”, particularly after the match at Mohali.
