Barely three days after the Delhi High Court ruled in favour of equality for homosexuals in a landmark judgement on July 2, and amid discussions still rife over the repercussions of decriminalising homosexuality, a lesbian shunned all fears of a conservative Indian society last evening and came out in the open, only to take her lost love back into her life.
A high drama unfolded at the Dayanand Medical College and Hospital last evening around 9 pm when a girl claiming to be the 'boy' lesbian (the dominating partner) created a scene to take her partner back. She turned furious after her ex-partner hailing from Barnala, who was visiting the hospital for her father's treatment, told her that she was now married and did not want to go back to her.
"I'll commit suicide if you do not come back to me. I have been looking for you everywhere ever since you left me. I have your pictures everywhere in my room and I cannot forget you. Just come back into my life," said Gurdeep (name changed) reportedly hailing from Chandigarh, who dominated in their relationship as lesbians.
Gurdeep had reportedly been looking for her partner Hardeep Kaur (name changed) for some time after the latter had disappeared from her life.
Eyewitnesses said the situation at the hospital became highly charged up after Hardeep declined to yield to Gurdeep's demand as the latter created hue and cry, pleading and forcing Hardeep at the same time to come and live with her. Later, the hospital authorities called in the police to sort out the matter.
