England close in on victory against Pakistan

England reached 71-1 at lunch on the fourth day of the second Test with Pakistan,closing in on a target of 118 for victory.

Andrew Strauss is unbeaten on 37 and Jonathan Trott has 26,while Mohammad Aamer has taken 1-16 at Edgbaston. Aamer dismissed Alastair Cook for 4 to leave England on 7-1 but Strauss and Trott steadied the host.

Earlier Pakistan was bowled out for 296 on Monday,after it added just five runs to its overnight score.

Graeme Swann was England’s leading bowler with 6-65,while Zulqarnain Haider top scored for Pakistan with 88.
