Pakistans Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Saturday said errors in the list of 50 fugitives sought by India from Pakistan should not be made a big issue and the two countries should move forward to enhance their friendship.
The wrong listing of Indian wanted persons, and their subsequent recovery within Indian jails… let us not make it a big issue, Malik said on micro-blogging site Twitter.
This is how some elements within bureaucracy create misunderstandings, even within states…. Let us forget about it,and move forward sincerely to enhance friendship between Pakistan and India, he said.
Malik called on the world to recognise Pakistans sacrifices in the war on terror. We all need to work together for the peace and stability of our region.
Earlier in the day,Foreign Office spokesperson Tehmina Janjua skirted the issue of errors in a list of 50 wanted fugitives and said Islamabad would consider New Delhis requests for tracing suspects believed to be on Pakistani soil with great seriousness.
To the embarrassment of Indias Home Ministry,it recently emerged that two men on the list of fugitives were in India.
