  • In fashion, it all comes down to balance and contrasts. So, if oversized slouch bags are the preferred accessory for daywear, then a sleek clutch bag is a must for an evening out. Like the little black dress, the little clutch is a classic evening accessory.

These undersized small bags are worn like jewellery and they do not cost the earth. Though the glam accessory suits everyone, there are certain clutch bag etiquettes that must be followed.

A clutch bag must not be clutched clumsily. A tiny clutch should be held close to the body and held higher. While a long envelope style is best held at the end with a dangling arm. Lastly, don’t ever stuff the clutch,

the clutter bulge takes away all the glam. Keep the look sleek and minimal.

Says designer Kalyani Chawla, “No matter what you’re wearing, a clutch bag will always rescue the look. It’s extremely elegant and also generally very dressy with embroidery, sequins and diamantes. Personally, I do not like to carry very tiny clutches. I prefer the longer ones to fit in all my basic things. It’s also a good idea to carry a clutch in a contrasting colour to the outfit.”
