The complaint was filed in Bandra Court against Aamir Khan, his wife Kiran Rao and Ronnie Screwvala.
An event manager and small time filmmaker has dragged actor-producer Aamir Khan to a court here for showing “obscene” acts in the film ‘Delhi Belly’ which released last week.
The complaint was filed on July 8 by Farah Ayaz Ghani in suburban Bandra Court against producers — Aamir Khan, his wife Kiran Rao and Ronnie Screwvala — director Abhinay Deo and writer Akshat Verma under various sections of IPC.
The filmmakers have been charged under IPC sections 292 (obscenity) and 295 (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage the feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs.
Magistrate Vasant Patil has fixed July 27 for recording statement of the complainant, her lawyer Prashant Pansare said.
Ghani alleged that vulgar and foul language was been used in the film which also showed the hero (Imran Khan) in a kissing scene with heroine (Poorna Jagannathan).
Both actors were dressed in burkha in the scene and had hurt the religious sentiments of the minority community because burkha does not allow such acts, the complainant maintained.
Pansare said Ghani is an event manager and a small time film producer.
