RPI leader Ramdas Athawale today led a morcha of party workers to the location of hit reality show 'Bigg Boss' at Lonavala, demanding eviction of house inmate, controversial cartoonist Aseem Trivedi.
"Trivedi should be evicted from the show by October 28 or else we will storm the 'Bigg Boss' house and evict him," Athawale told reporters later.
The RPI leader also submitted a memorandum to the local municipal council, asking it not to allow the show to be shot next year.
Athawale said his party would call for Lonavala bandh on October 29 if the cartoonist is not evicted by then.
Last week, Athawale had objected to TV channel Colors including Trivedi in the reality show 'Bigg Boss', alleging that he had insulted various symbols of India and denigrated the Constitution.
The marchers gathered from various parts of the state, including Mumbai, Thane, Nashik and Pune. The show is being shot in a bungalow in the hill town of Lonavala, about 100 kms from Mumbai.
Trivedi was an unknown entity till he targeted various Indian symbols like the tricolour, the Ashok Chakra, Parliament and the Constitution, Athawale said.
Trivedi was in news after the Maharashtra government slapped sedition charges on him for sketching obscene cartoons denigrating the Constitution and other symbols.
