Fake address proof reason for cutting power to resident: CM

Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan on Tuesday told the Assembly that the electricity connection of a Nalasopara resident, who received his bill with 'Chhota Pakistan' as the address, has been cancelled as he had submitted fake documents.

"The electricity distribution company, as per the recommendations of its legal cell, has decided to permanently cancel the connection of the said individual as he had submitted fake residential proof. The Nalasopara police have also filed a case against the individual," Chavan said in a written reply to the Legislative Assembly during the question hour.

Newsline had earlier reported how two residents of Rashid Compound in Nalasopara had received electricity bills from MSEB with their address printed as 'Chhota Pakistan'.

A question pertaining to residents of Santosh Bhavan and Dhanavi Bag area in Nalasopara getting electricity bills and rations cards listing their area as 'Chhota Pakistan' was raised by MNS legislator Ram Kadam on Tuesday.

The MSEB has, meanwhile, claimed that Chhota Pakisatn was used by applicants themselves when they had applied for the connection.
