A 23-year-old woman strangled her daughter before hanging herself in Palam area on Sunday. The police said they have recovered a suicide note written by the woman, Kiran Raj.

According to the police Raj first strangled her daughter, Gracy (2), and then hanged herself in the room. Raj, in her suicide note, claimed responsibility for her actions.

Raj lived with her husband Johnie, a volunteer with a church in RK Puram, in DDA flats in Pocket 7 of Palam. The police said there was tension in the family and Raj put it down in her suicide note.

Johnie found Raj’s and his daughter’s bodies and informed the police. “We got a call in the morning and rushed the two to a hospital, but both were declared dead on arrival,” said the police. The police have registered a case of inquest in today’s incident and are investigating the case.
