Farmer commits ‘suicide’ in Bundelkhand

A 65-year-old farmer of Bundelkhand region reportedly committed suicide after his alleged failure to repay a loan which he had taken from a bank to buy a tractor.

A 65-year-old farmer of Bundelkhand region reportedly committed suicide after his alleged failure to repay a loan which he had taken from a bank to buy a tractor. He had reportedly consumed hair-dye on Friday and subsequently was admitted to Jhansi Medical College where he died on Saturday.

Gagole Kori,a resident of Mathaniya village in Garautha Tehsil, had taken a loan of around Rs 3 lakh from State Bank of India’s Dhawakar branch in Garautha tehsil. On being contacted,District Magistrate of Jhansi Manish Chauhan said Gagole ended his life after he had a quarrel with his son. “He had been served a notice to pay the installment of loan from the bank on June 9,” said DM Jhansi Manish Chauhan.
