Peeved at the "jadu ki jhappi" remark by Sanjay Dutt, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Monday attacked the Samajwadi party, calling it a gathering of people who are good at little other than singing, dancing and fake Gandhigiri.

"My political opponents have no good work to their credit and are demoralised over the BSP's growing popularity. Hence, they are now gathering people who are good at little except singing, dancing and "farzi" (fake) Gandhigiri", the BSP

    supremo told an election meeting.

Without naming Dutt or the Samajwadi Party which has made the actor its General Secretary, she said, "Our political opponents need to remember that naachne-gaane wale (those who sing and dance), through their farzi Gandhigiri, may attract huge crowds but will not help them get votes". The remarks came in the wake of Dutt having allegedly said at an election meeting that he wanted to give "jaadu ki jhappi aur pappi" (magical hug and kiss) to Mayawati, following which an FIR, accusing the actor of having made "obscene" comments, has been registered in Pratapgarh district of the state. Earlier, the BSP supremo came down heavily on the Congress for its "failure to remove poverty an unemployment from the country despite having ruled it for the most part of the 61 years since Independence.

She is rightBy: Hemant | 21-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward Her comments in are correct. The movie fellows think it is their birthright to command people's following for matters as serious as electing representatives whereas what they actually do is to live in a make-belief world. Politics should not become business of all and sundry.
The lady protests too muchBy: Ashwin Talreja | 21-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward Sanjay is out to get publicity-- if he can't act in films , he says things which will attract publicity. And Mayawati is too sensitive about Jappis and Pappis-- once you are in politics anything is possible, and is she really annoyed?
Not right to say such thingsBy: Elizabeth Turner | 21-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward I think the discussion about whether the object of a pappi is pretty or ugly is irrelevant. Noone should be at the receiving end of such a comment, evenan an ugly person
Publicity or antagonismBy: romesh.sharma | 21-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward There is nothing immoral or a word spoken by Sanjay Dutt that one must interpret it in negative sense. To hug and kiss doesn't depict sexual desire/intentions.This can be between brother and sister or father and daughter as well.Mayawati's antagonistic reaction shows her cheap mentality and low intellect. The way she looks I don't think if Sanjay or any normal man would like to kiss her(the way she interprets).Though I am against Sanjay's participation in politics before completing his jail term and his past activities but in this statement he definitely meant to appease her and nothing more.So is Mayawati who shamelessly claims huge achievements for poor and uplift of Dalits while she has amassed riches for herself and converted to Budhism. She is treacherous, selfish, greedy and worthy to be imprisoned for long term for her slogans and illegitimate assets. Moreover she has forgotten to say Farzi GANDHIES along with Farzi Gandhigiri.Farzi Gandhies are more dangerous than this novice Dutt who is trying his best to stay out of Jail as long as possible.
SHAMEFUL COMMENTS ON WOMANBy: GURVINDER SINGH | 21-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward It is shameful to read that son of such a dignified and man(sunil dutt)making such comments...Sanjay is trying to win am battle with a single stroke..he must understand that speaking in such a obscence language will not earn votes for his party..but definately the wrath of a woman..but what can we expect of a man who even took his owm's moter name during election campaign ..he said he was beaten because his mother was a muslim...
