Remake Fixation

THE New Year will see several films turn into franchises as many sequels have been lined up for release. The Angry Young Man will be revived by Ram Charan Teja in a Zanjeer remake. Ajay Devgn will step into the shoes of Jeetendra for a Himmatwala remake. Sai Paranjape's classic tale of three friends in Chashme Buddoor is being recreated with Ali Zafar, Divyendu Sharma and Siddharth, and will release in the first half of 2013.

Dance dance

THE combined efforts of Remo D'Souza and Prabhudheva will translate into Bollywood's first 3D dance-based film. ABCD — Anybody Can Dance will be a film purely based on dance. While Prabhu Deva plays the lead role, winners of popular television show, Dance India Dance — Salman Khan, Dharmesh, Prince, Mayuresh and Vrushali — alongside Lauren Gottlieb, the global winner of the television show So You Think

You Can Dance are in other key roles.

Dhak dhak returns

IT has been over a year that Madhuri Dixit-Nene moved back bag, baggage and family from the US to the hub of Indian entertainment, Mumbai. A big-screen comeback, however, eluded her in 2012. She was supposed to make a return with Abhishek Chaubey's Dedh Ishqiya, which has now been put on the back-burner. Instead, the actor is shooting for Anubhav Sinha-produced Gulaab Gang, releasing later this year, where she plays the role of the gang leader.
