Fatal accident: Home Guard volunteer held

    A Home Guard volunteer with the Chandigarh Police was arrested after his speeding government vehicle hit a scooter and a car, claiming one life. Two persons were injured in the accident. The accident occurred near Sector 33 on Saturday night when the Maruti van driven by Ravinder Singh hit a scooter and then a Tavera jeep. Sunil Kumar (28), a resident of Sector 45 who was pillion riding the scooter, sustained serious injuries and was taken to the PGI where he died on Sunday evening. Ravinder has been booked under Sections 304 A, 279 and 337 of the IPC.
