Baituallah Mehsud claimed responsibility for the attack on the US immigration centre.

The FBI on Saturday ruled out Pakistani Taliban militant leader Baituallah Mehsud's claim that he was responsible for an attack on a US immigration assistance center in New York state in which 14 people were killed.

"Based on the evidence, we can firmly discount that claim," FBI spokesman Richard Kolko said.

A man armed with two handguns killed 13 people at an immigrant services center on Friday before apparently turning the gun on himself, authorities in Binghamton, New York, said.

Representative Maurice Hinchey, whose district includes Binghamton, told the New York Times that indications were the gunman was an immigrant from Vietnam.

Mehsud told Reuters in Pakistan earlier Saturday that his group was responsible. "I accept responsibility. They were my men. I gave them orders in reaction to US drone attacks," Mehsud said by telephone from an undisclosed location.

The US and TalibanBy: John | 05-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward India should not expect or wait for the US. The Taliban is very much closer to our borders. We may have to engage in a full fledged war against them to protect our freedom and sovereignty. If we expect the current Paki problem to be solved by the US, we will be the losers. The Taliban is number one enemy of the US while the Taliban is number one friend of the ISI. Now the US is funding $1.5b to ISI and Paki military to fight against the Taliban. Obviously we can understand where the matter is heading towards.
ConpiracyBy: Yangu | 05-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward is it a conspiracy by the Republican hooligans to show that the coloured President has no match for the mighty Bush. Let us reinstate Bush to get the job done with competence.
Terririst individual and nations have no faithBy: miraniqbal | 05-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward If the terrorist happened to be a Vietnamese national, will america decide to attack Vietnam and call it a terrorist nation. Deal with the individual law makers as individual wrong doers, without pulling the entire nation to which the terrorists belong to, unless there is a well established proof that that country's Govt is fully responsible in helping the terrorists. Did the US occupy, attack and bring regime change in Saudi Arabia simply because most of the 9/11 actors were from saudi arabia? Why did we not punish the Saudi Government and the entire population of Saudi Arabia as we have been punishing the entire Iraq, Afghanistan, now Pakistan is going to be included in the list, Nicaragua, Panama and Cuba? A terrorist who kills the innocent has no face, no religion, no nation, the same applies to nations which organize State Terrorism in order to terrorize millions of innocent people who have absolutely no share in the terrorist activities of a few misguided personnel
Taliban's ClaimBy: Dinesh | 05-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward $ 5 Million reward on head " Baitullah " is no joker. Accepts the attack on NY
Yeah Sure !!By: Mike Vig | 05-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward This is Joke of the day. The teror capital in Pakistan / Taliban thought this incident will work in their favour so lets scare them more. These disgruntled people are so naive. While they hide in their caves, they push others to do the dirty work for them. They are afraid to die. They just want publicity. Uncle Sam is doing good to find and kill them all one by one. There is no other way humanly possible.
