  • The Sahakarnagar police have booked five persons from a finance company for allegedly cheating a customer by charging double interest rates and threatening him.

Following a complaint from Bhaskar Ganpat Bhise (47), a resident of Dhankawdi, the police have booked Avinash Singh, Yoginder Singh Khatri, Pankaj Kapoor , S R Arora and Ahivale Jaiswal.

Police said the accused had agreed to lend a loan of Rs 8.50 lakh to the complainant. The company at first issued a cheque worth Rs 3.49 lakh at 36 per cent interest rate rather than the assured 16 per cent interest rate. Bhise paid a sum of Rs 1 lakh for getting the loan cleared. The accused had allegedly prepared bogus documents and threatened Bhise when he questioned about it.
